Hi, I'm Caprise.

I'm a St. Paul based Minnesota dog sports photographer, and I'm passionate about photographing dogs. I've always seen them a little differently than the people around me. While growing up, I had a deep bond with my first true love, a Doberman named Rocky.

I enjoy hearing people tell me that my photos have captured their dogs' personality. That's my goal. Their faces and eyes are so expressive, and they communicate volumes in nanoseconds. I shoot with the idea of freezing the messages they're giving us so we can emotionally sink into them later, when we're not in the adrenaline rush of trialing. That way we can truly savor our memories and experiences we have with our friends.

I began photographing dog sports in 2014, when a wonderful friend of mine asked me to photograph the first Nose Work trial in Minnesota. I immediately fell in love with the job. I love the dogs, the relationship between dog and handler, and surprisingly, the sport itself. The physics of the scent particles, and the effect environments have on those particles is so interesting. I like to watch interactions and puzzles based on myriad factors like weather, location, thermodynamics, wind, sounds, shapes and all kinds of other interesting things--it's fascinating! I enjoy capturing the search.
